WHO WE ARE

A ROOM OF YOUR OWN

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s famous book-length essay A Room of One’s Own (1929), we envision the establishment of our arts residency program to cater to the needs of established artists as well as to the needs of those artists now embarking on their journey. A Room of Your Own will also reach out to artists with fewer opportunities, including those who are trying to juggle the demands of everyday life and their art.

As an enabler of the creative process, A Room of Your Own aspires to offer an ideal environment with new influences and fresh perspectives, contacts, guidance, and support, so that our artists-in-residence can dedicate their time and their full energies to their creative work. A Room of Your Own is all about reflection, inspiration, research, experimentation, creation, and interaction with the local community.  For the novices, A Room of Your Own is essential as it will provide space, time, mentorship, and empowerment.

Nestling inside its medieval walls, Nicosia promises to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration. This is where you’ll find A Room of Your Own.
